Join local musician Fiona Bryan in conversation as she shares her experiences of the last 3 years, emerging from the anonymity of the back row of the wood wind section where she spent many years as an orchestral musician, to running an innovative new group, Spectrum Ensemble London.
Choosing some of her favourite pieces from the piano, string quartet and orchestral repertoire, she has arranged them for an unusual combination of wind instruments creating a unique sound world re-interpreting music from composers such as Ravel, Mozart, Shostakovich, Sibelius, Rachmaninoff, Debussy and Bach.
She has also begun to explore the visual impressions she has when listening to music by painting them and including them in the performance space offering the audience references to colour, shape and texture in association with the music they are hearing.
An informal gathering with plenty of time for questions, Fiona will be joined by her colleagues from the ensemble to share some of the things that she’s learned giving an insight into this creative process.
We are currently busy planning our full calendar for this year so check back soon for more!
