Impressions of the Summer Solstice in Cyanotype and Rubbings with Clare Lorraine

Overview

Cyanotype is also known as "sun printing". One of the oldest forms of photography, it was used by botanists to accurately show plants in the first ever book containing photographic images over 180 years ago.

In this Summer Solstice session we will retrace their steps to create beautiful impressions of local plantlife, both in rubbings and (weather permitting) using sunlight from one of the longest days of the year to create beautiful cyanotypes.

Craft Cafe Workshops are completely free to attend and run on Mondays from 12:30 to 3 PM.
