Our Sydenham, Her Place
Sydenham Arts' new programme finding creative and artistic ways to improve safety and connection for women in our neighbourhood.
What is it about?
Our Sydenham, Her Place is a FREE project using creativity to explore identity and our connection to Sydenham.
This builds on our previous project, Street SmART, which identified barriers experienced by women in the local area, creating safe spaces for women and girls to express themselves.
Our FREE workshops will use accessible creative writing and visual arts exercises to enable participants self expression and help build and promote community. No experience is necessary and sessions are open to anyone over the age of 13 including men and boys. Refreshments will also be provided.
We'll also be running creative workshops this spring. The project will culminate with production of a new public artwork informed by participants throughout the project.
