From Mid-May, visit our High Street Gallery hosted by local businesses from Sydenham and the surrounding area. Visit each website to find a unique piece of art from one of our 2o2o Trail Artists.

A series of workshops, masterclasses and demos by this year’s artists.

Be sure to  book your place at our online workshops, which will take place on Zoom. Booking links for each event will be coming soon. All these events are free, but we are asking participants to ‘Pay-What-You-Can’ and support Sydenham Arts.

Up-Cycle Your Earrings- Fri 22 May, 11am
 Zoom Workshop Jayne Williams Jayne Williams will share her jewellery making expertise and guide you through a workshop to make your own beaded drop earrings using old earring parts and spare beads.

This workshop has been specially adapted so that more people can join in from home! You’ll need to grab an old pair of earrings, and some other bits and bobs you might have lying around.

 

Papercraft with Leila- Tue 26 May, 11am
 Zoom Workshop Leila Khasal In this workshop, Leila will share one of her many skills- Papercraft.

You will learn an easy technique, which we will use to first make a hanging ornament. Once you’ve learned that, we will make a flower and if there is still time left we will make card with this technique. I will also show you some more advanced things made using this technique to give you ideas and inspiration to do other projects.

 

Blending Paint Colours: A Beginner’s Guide- Thu 28 May, 2.30pm
 Zoom Workshop Lisa Muten Fine Artist Lisa Muten will host a masterclass to help new and experience painters alike to improve their skills in blending paint colours, and how the blending of 3 colours can help to add the illusion of depth to your paintings.

 

An Intro to Digital Painting- Tue 2 June, 7pm
 Zoom Workshop Kevin Dolan Artist Kevin Dolan will help you to get started with digital painting using your mobile devices or laptop, and provide you a run down of how to start building your first digital paintings!

 

Papercraft for Families- Thu 4 June, 2pm
 Zoom Workshop Leila Khasal In this workshop, Leila will share one of her many skills- Papercraft, adapted for younger children and families to get creative!

You will learn an easy technique, which we will use to first make a hanging ornament. Once you’ve learned that, we will make other shapes to put on cards or sticks for creative play. I will also show you some more advanced things I have made using this technique to give you ideas and inspiration to do other projects.

 

Make a Ribbon and Bead Bracelet- Mon 8 June, 2.30pm

Digital Painting: Advanced Skills- Tue 16 June, 7pm
 Zoom Workshop Kevin Dolan  In this workshop, Kevin will teach you how to advance your skills and use more techniques in digital painting. If you are new to digital painting, we recommend you also attend the intro workshop on 2nd June.
