Sue King designs and creates vibrant fused glass works of art from her South London garden shed studio. She studied Glass with Fine Art/Architecture at Central St Martins after her first degree in Interior Design.
Many of her glass interior projects have been healthcare commissions, as Sue has a strong passion for the benefits of art in the healing environment. She will also undertake residential commissions for window and door panels as well as wall mounted glass art.
Some of her smaller pieces include colourful glass stars which she sells and donates a percentage to charities such as Breast Cancer Haven, and Dimbleby Cancer Care.
A passion for colour dominates her work, and inspiration comes from creating intriguing colour combinations, patterns and references to nature
Sue loves all things creative and inspiring others and so also runs glass workshops and art sessions for adults and children. During Sydenham Arts Weeks, Sue will be resident at the Artisan Village where she will have a display of her colourful glass tableware and panels.
Demonstration and talk
Sue will be demonstrating her glass work during both days (just drop in) and will also be giving short artist’s talks about what she does, and her inspirations at 3;30pm.
