#Sixty: Seniors, Forest Hill

#Sixty is a our bi-monthly programme of FREE events for our Plus 60’s. Supported by Sydenham Assembly funds.
Next up is a unique performance by members of Seniors Forest Hill showing age is no barrier to performing.
The session starts with Ghosts an original piece of drama developed by the cast and centred around the 70th anniversary of the opening of the Darby and Joan Club. Directed by Judy Gordon (founder of Montage Theatre Group). Followed by a new club song from The Seniors Singers based on the poetry competition they held this year.
Cast: Daphne Latter, Michael Harrild, Ruby Sherrill, Ellie Constantinou and Ivy Figgest
In addition we have a special screening of ‘Sow and Keep Growing’ a short animation (approx 8 mins) and live action documentary about and with, one of the Sow & Grow groups run at Sydenham Garden. Sow & Keep Growing is for people living with dementia in the early stages and range in age from 70 – 90 years old. In the film the group explore what Sydenham Garden means to them and how it positively impacts their daily lives.
‘ Sow and Keep Growing ‘ was funded by The Age Against the Machine Festival as part of a Cultural Impact Award.
